July 1, 2009: Pantheon Press inteviewed for planewalker.com
Pantheon Press's president and Editor-in-Chief got a chance to sit down with planewalker.com for an interview on how the company came about and what Nobis holds for the d20 gamer. You can read the full text here.
"Nobis certainly seems to be a more thoughtful game, much like Planescape. More focus on Role Playing as opposed to Roll Playing, but with some solidly developed crunch to make it work. I'm looking forward to test driving the rules in the very near future!" - planewalker.com
June 6, 2009: Nobis press has started to roll in and we are overwhelmed by the response
Nobis is featured in Atomic Array episode 24. We were excited to get the opportunity to speak with Ed Healy and Rone Barton at Atomic Array; they have an absolutely superb gaming program. Stop by the Atomic Array site to listen to full episodes and for a chance to win prizes.
Nobis has also been featured on a number of blogs and forums and much of the response has been simply wonderful:
"I particularly want to mention the artwork, some of which is (deep breath) simply the most beautiful and inspirational illustrations I’ve ever seen anywhere" - campaignmastery.com
"This is one the better fencing systems for the D20 system ..." - Chris Perrin on gamecryer.com
"[The] adventure will definitely cater to players of all types. From the dramatic reading (I’m sorry, but I love that so much that I have to repeat it), to the fight in the Warehouse at the beginning of the adventure, nobody should be disappointed" - allgeektout.com
"I know what I like, and it's dark, gritty, and detailed. The art of Nobis is more realistic than anything we've seen from WotC for some time (excellent though those artists are) ..." - unnatural20.com
"The Nobis books are rich with characters that you'll be happy to play, and replay, as they navigate through their world." - unnatural20.com
"[What] is new and different about Nobis? Well, that depends on your point of view. You might be thinking, "Firearms with swords and magic? Yawn." But don't be so quick to judge. What I found very cool about Nobis was not the firearms, but the impact their presence has on the campaign setting. The authors of the setting did an excellent job downplaying heavy armor and "classic" D&D; weaponry in favor of lighter more deadly fighting systems for melee combat. I'm talking about FENCING. Yeah, Nobis has it's own completely internal d20 system for fencing, and it is very slick."
- thecoremechanic.com
"Finally a good, simple to implement Reputation system for 3E/OGL games." - thecoremechanic.com
"But where the book really shines is in the new rules introduced ... [i]n all there’s a lot of information here for you to use in your 3e game even if you’re not using the Nobis setting. If any of those additional rules appeal to you, definitely go check this book out." - dicemonkey.com
