This weekend is another of NerdNYC's very popular Recess events; it's an all-day gaming extravaganza, with RPGs and board games alike. And Pantheon Press is going to be running TWO Fortune's Fool one-shots!
At noon, we'll be running "All the King's Men." Set in Elizabethan London, the players are a troupe of popular actors who are accused of a murder that they didn't commit. Can they discover the true killer and clear their names before they are tossed into the Tower of London?
Then, in the early evening, we've got "A Cabaret, Old Chum," a unique twice on the Fortune's Fool world that takes place in Berlin in 1929! The players are a group of intellectuals and artists who must take a stand against a movement started by a familiar mustachioed halfling from Austria. Will Fate protect you from machine guns and grenades? Probably not.
So come on out and play Fortune's Fool with us. Or any of the other great games being run at Recess this Saturday! Doors open at 11am!
It's official! Fortune's Fool is coming to stores this week in the UK! We're celebrating over here in the States with a big heaping plate of blood pudding.
PS. That's what Jay calls it when he kills a bunch of characters in a single session.
It's close to two months until GenCon! Pantheon Press is going to be there--are you?
In fact, we'll be running four games of Fortune's Fool during the con, on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, the tickets for those events are currently sold out, but maybe you are one of the lucky people who signed up! If so, take a look at the pregens for our adventure, "The Fairest of Them All." It's a take on the ending of Snow White, asking the question: What if Snow White was royally pissed off after waking up from her coma? It's your typical revenge story, but with dwarves!
We hope to see you in Indianapolis come August!
Today, we uploaded a brand-new free Lost Treasures supplement, titled Serpent's Tongue and Tiger's Claw. And not just solely out of the goodness of our hearts. Over the past few months, we've been hard at work at another full Fortune's Fool sourcebook set in exotic Hindustan. As with most of Europe at the time of the Renaissance, the area that will eventually become the countries of India and Pakistan is undergoing an exciting period of cultural and artistic blossoming. So we figured it would be the perfect addition to the Fortune's Fool universe.
This new supplement will feature new races, character creation choices, weapons, and spells. It will be perfect for the GM who wants to start a new campaign in, or even move an existing campaign to, the jungles and deserts of Hindustan or the player who wants to play a Brahmin priest traveling through Renaissance Europe. Over the next few weeks, we'll be previewing this exciting book, starting with a glimpse of the cover!
Thanks to Vinny Salzillo for organizing Metatopia this past weekend. Pantheon Press got some great feedback on Fortune's Fool and some of the new things we're concocting for upcoming releases. We had some really great groups of people playing our games and some even hung our past the game's conclusion to help create some new characters. Loved to see the enthusiasm and hear their ideas as they stepped through the process. A great and awesome convention for sure.
